The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia visits Acaluna in Germany

It is not every day that a Consul General visits a small company in southern Germany. On 10 April 2025, the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia, Antonius Yudi Triantoro, who is responsible for the southern German states from Frankfurt, came to the Acaluna office in Ehingen together with the Consul for Economic Affairs, Toary Fransiskus Worang. They were welcomed by our founders, Jessica Moll and Dr. Manuel Behmüller, together with the mayor of Ehingen, Alexander Baumann, and representatives of the IHK Ulm.

What was discussed

The conversation focused on the growing interest of young Indonesians in a dual Ausbildung in Germany, especially in industry. For several years Acaluna has placed apprentices from Indonesia with German manufacturing companies, in professions such as dairy technologist, machine and plant operator and food technology specialist.

The Consul General expressed support for closer cooperation with Acaluna. The goal is an official channel between the Indonesian government and Acaluna.

“The Ausbildung is the gateway to the German labour market. Our apprentices' main motivation is to build a long-term life in Germany, both professionally and personally.”

Meeting our apprentices in person

One of the most important moments of the day was the conversation with Marwan Ali from Indonesia. Marwan comes from Bali and is training as a machine and plant operator (Maschinen- und Anlagenführer) in Bavaria. Marwan was 30 at the time, proof that an Ausbildung in Germany is not only for school-leavers. Marwan told the Schwäbische Zeitung about being happy to do the Ausbildung here, with the prospect of permanent employment afterwards.

“I am very happy to be in Germany. I am grateful for the chance to do an Ausbildung here. At first the Bavarian dialect was strange to me, but now I understand it well.”

“We are delighted by the Consul General's visit and the interest in our company. In the future we want to give even more young people from Indonesia the chance of an Ausbildung in Germany.”

Covered by the German press

The regional newspaper Schwäbische Zeitung reported on the visit on 14 April 2025 under the headline “Indonesischer Generalkonsul spricht über Fachkräfte für das Schwabenland” (Indonesian Consul General talks about skilled workers for Swabia). According to the report, the Consul General pointed out that Indonesia has too few vocational training places for its many young people.

Why this matters when you choose an agency

There are many Ausbildung offers on the internet, and not all of them are serious. An official visit guarantees nothing, but it shows a few things you can check yourself:

• We really exist in Germany. Acaluna GmbH is registered at the Ulm District Court (HRB 746028) and has offices in Germany, not just a social media account.
• We work openly with public institutions. A mayor, the chamber of commerce and representatives of the Indonesian government sat at the same table with us.
• Our apprentices speak for themselves. The Consul General did not just listen to our presentation, but also heard directly from an apprentice.

One year later: the Acaluna team in Jakarta

The relationship did not end in Germany. In April 2026, Jessica Moll and Dr. Manuel Behmüller flew to Jakarta. Together with the Acaluna team in Indonesia, they visited EKONID, the German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
